Circle: |
A
silhouette of the Ring
of Brodgar - a 5,000 year old stone circle in Stenness,
Orkney - is painted round the frame. The background is then
filled in to enhance the grain of the wood. |
| Maeshowe
Range: |
Decoration based on the runic inscriptions and carvings inside
the ancient burial mound of Maeshowe.
These were etched into the walls when the Vikings broke into
the tomb in the twelfth century and include sections of runic
script and the famous Maeshowe
Dragon.
The
designs are applied to the natural wood frame using pyrography. |
