Belgarth Bodhrans - Traditional Bodhrans from the Orkney Isles
Beaters

Our bodhrans can have have a number of finishes:

Natural wood: The natural colour and grain of the wood are allowed to take centre stage.
Coloured: A single colour is applied to the frame.
Multicoloured: A series of toning colours are intermingled with the natural grain pattern.
Tartan: A range featuring decoration inspired by traditional tartans.
Stone Circle: A silhouette of the Ring of Brodgar - a 5,000 year old stone circle in Stenness, Orkney - is painted round the frame. The background is then filled in to enhance the grain of the wood.
Maeshowe Range:

Decoration based on the runic inscriptions and carvings inside the ancient burial mound of Maeshowe. These were etched into the walls when the Vikings broke into the tomb in the twelfth century and include sections of runic script and the famous Maeshowe Dragon.

The designs are applied to the natural wood frame using pyrography.

Misc Designs: A sample of our other designs.

All finishes are sealed with three coats of Satin finish Polyurethane.
